As a member, you can use the space to do lots of things.
Mostly, Daylight is used for music events, but in the past it's also been used for things like:
Language classes
Filming music videos
Art exhibitions
Film screenings
A haunted house
Union meetings
DIY workshops
Ceilís
Making a big sculpture
Food not Bombs cooks
Play rehearsals
Clowning meets
Maybe you'd like to do one of these things, or you have a new idea for something to use the space for. There is No Fee to book Daylight for your event.
Provided that there is time and space, and capacity to support you, most things are possible.
If you want to run an event in Daylight, particularly a for-profit one, we will usually request a minimum 6 week lead in time, and that you contribute 1 hour of voluntary time. All experience levels are welcome. Send eventsdaylight@gmail.com a message, and fill out our events form to be connected with a council member.
Daylight is a community of people who rely on each other- helping each other out is a great way to learn something new, build trust, and develop a safe use of the space. Daylight is much more than just a venue.
We are currently building a soundsystem in Daylight!
We've constructed two subs, with the help of lots of wonderful people, and are working towards building mids and highs :)
This will be a massive step forward in terms of investing in the space, as well as lowering the cost of running events.
